To ensure that the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ will be another unforgettable, massive football festival for all South Africans, the broadcast for non-commercial public viewings across the host country will be made free of charge.

      How the Bid was won

      South Africa came very close to earning the right to host the 2006 FIFA World CupTM. In the end, Germany pipped them to it by 12 votes to 11 and went on to host a wonderful tournament, leaving the South Africans deflated, but nonetheless accepting the agonising defeat with grace.

      The ticketing proposal was elaborated jointly by FIFA and the South African LOC. The prices reflect FIFA's positioning of the FIFA World Cup™ as a premium international sporting event, yet also take account of the South African market.

        The 2010 identity is unique, vibrant and dynamic, graphically encapsulating the African continent while more intimately dipping into South Africa's rich and colourful heritage for inspiration.

        FIFA Committee

        The Organising Committee for the FIFA World Cup shall organise the FIFA World Cup in compliance with the provisions of the regulations applicable to this competition, the List of Requirements and the Organising Association Agreement.
